Week 25, June 1 - July 6
“O God, thy sea is so great, and my boat is so small...." Prayer of the Breton fishermen
I confess. I get seasick. A dinghy is my kind of boat. One person can row it and it's good on flat water. Calm water has really great reflections.
Painting water fascinates my students. Recently, we worked specifically on painting reflections of boats. One poor quality, small photograph was morphed it into a dozen different boats in a dozen seas. This week’s painting is one of my efforts. I am as captivated by reflections as anyone.
This is an 11”x 8”. watercolor called “The Pequod” (that was Captain Ahab’s boat in Moby Dick if you can’t remember why the name’s familiar). This painting is for sale for $100.00. Please contact mary@marygreggbyrne.com for purchase or further information.
Always take a lifesaver with you. (I prefer mine male, 6' plus.)
