My Family is, on the whole, not musically talented. This does not stop us from playing instruments and singing, but it leads us to pursue these activities in private or in groups so large no one can pick us out of the crowd.

I do better painting pictures of musicians, especially children. Music making is a universal human activity, always good subject matter. It's fun to make music part of two dimensional art.

Apple Season

Week 30    August 4 - 10

Summer shows are over and it's time bring this blog up to date. As often happens, the paintings get done, but the writing and posting fall behind.

I have a Gala apple tree. The first fruit ripens in mid-August, the apples are excellent eating and keep well. It also provides good subject matter for paintings: beautiful apple colors with the leaves still attached, no two fruits alike.
